The kind (and smart) folks over at JuiceBox recordinigs are doing a great job in releasing some of the best underground bands in Canada, and we wanted to be a part of that.
We're never going to make money making music. Why? We kind of suck at playing guitar, and we don't know how to work "the industry", so instead we'ed rather have people hear us as easily as possible, and the result being people come out to our shows. The more people at shows = the more fun we have. Talk - action = 0 and so on.
We sell shirts and CDs/Vinyl at our shows because some people still want something to take home right away, but we make very, very little money on any of it. Check our prices - check the prices of other bands WE'LL MATCH ANY PRICE. IT'S JUST LIKE A MINI MALL
Open source software works in that you give away the software for free, and then people get paid to use and customize it to benefit people. Call it open source music - You can hear us easily, and pass it on to your friend, and then we can come to your house and hang out with you and your parents.
It's a business model you can't beat, because instead of C02, the emissions are only 'good times'.
